Their dedication helps make the BCO Awards one of the most rigorous judging processes and, therefore, worthwhile in the property industry. Judging panels are made up of BCO members who serve up to three years on the panel. Each year one or two judging panel members change.

Mike is currently helping to create the next generation of sustainable, healthy and smart office space across the UK working with British Land in Canada Water, CORE in the West end, and the City of London’s Salisbury Square.
Mike is co-author for the RIBA book Next Generation Office Design, has contributed to the 2014 & 2019 BCO Guides and has supported 2022 Fit Out Guide. Mike is a winning team member of BCO Office of the Future, BCO inspirational leader finalist and awarded in 2022 Building Performance Engineer of the Year for his outstanding contribution to sustainable design. Mike is a BCO Nextgen Mentor, winner of the WICE Mentor of the Year, and a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.

Paul has over 30 years’ experience and is responsible for managing the design and construction of projects at LRD, and ran the delivery of 22 Bishopsgate. Prior to LRD, he spent 15 years at Stanhope as Development Director and worked on multi award-winning projects, including Chiswick Park, One Hanover Street, Air W1, One Coleman Street (L&G’s headquarters), 70 Mark Lane, 8-10 Moorgate, he also led on the delivery of the RIBA Stirling prize winning Bloomberg HQ building. Paul began his career at Schal where he spent 5 years working on Imperial College’s Biomedical Science building, the redevelopment of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, and Nokia’s headquarters in Farnborough. Paul holds a BSc in Construction Management and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Chris graduated from University of Salford & trained as an Asset Manager at Bruntwood, then became Associate Director at office specialists, Canning O’Neill, & then Senior Leasing Manager at MEPC on Birchwood Business Park, home to the UK’s nuclear cluster.
In 2015, Chris joined Allied London as Director of Spinningfields, Manchester’s financial & legal district, & was promoted to Group Property Director, working on XYZ Building, One Spinningfields, Booking.com pre-letting & a managed workspace business.
In 2019, Chris joined Peel L&P as Property Director of MediaCity, leading a team responsible for asset management & operations & progressing the masterplan. LandSec acquired 75% of MediaCity, & also Mayfield in Manchester, in 2021 - Chris joined LandSec shortly afterwards.

Ian has focused on development consultancy and leasing work in the Central London office market and has been involved in a number of high-profile schemes across the West End over the past 20 years, acting as a key advisor to some of the industries most respected investors. Ian is also involved in the regeneration of St James’s working on St James’s Market (200,000 sq ft) and the regeneration of the former BBC site at White City of circa 1 million sq ft as well as two of the major transport development sites at Hanover Square for GPE totalling180,000 sq ft, Soho Place for Derwent London totalling 225,000 sq ft and Paddington Square totalling 330,000 sq ft. Ian also undertook the largest pre let that has taken place in Mayfair and St James’s advising on the 230,000 sq ft pre letting to Blackstone. Marie-Louise is Sustainability Director at Hilson Moran and forms part of the Operations Board. An experienced environmental designer and industry leader, Marie-Louise specialising in drivers and systems for bringing about meaningful environmental and social change in real estate and construction.
She brings over 25 years of industry experience championing sustainable design, from ambitious buildings and regeneration schemes across the world, to the ground-breaking authoring of the COL’s Carbon Options Guidance and other key policy documents. Her advisory role spans across the lifecycle of the built environment, from strategic land planning to buildings in operation and their repurposing.
Marie-Louise has been a panellist/judge for LREF, FOOTPRINT+, CTBUH, NLA; as well as a frequent contributor to publications including Architects' Journal, CIBSE Journal and Building Magazine.

Ben is an associate who has worked at Fletcher Priest since completing his Masters of Architecture at UCL, The Bartlett School of Architecture. Ben also sits as a committee member for the British Council for Offices Next Gen London and South West region and is a champion of thought leadership for the next generation of talent within the built environment sector. Ben is a skilled designer, illustrator and communicator.
He works on several high profile workplace projects in London. Ben has played a key role in the design development of a major workplace project at Battersea Power Station, a small high-end office scheme in Fitzrovia and most recently he’s been crucial in the concept and technical design of 450,000sqft of market-leading workplace in the heart of the City of London. Being involved in projects from bid stage through to delivery, Ben has a robust understanding of a projects evolution on all scales of the workplace sector. Ben has a keen interest in the role of story-telling within architecture and looks to examine how this design methodology can transition into the tangible built environment.

Emma founded Shape the Space Architects in 2021 after a career spanning 20 years in large commercial practices in the UK and Ireland.
A passion for office design and variety has seen Emma gain experience in commercial offices, residential projects, listed buildings, hospitals, factories, visitor's centres, schools, large city redevelopment and new build masterplans. More recently, Emma has become WELL AP accredited, which ensures her designs can meet the highest standards of health and wellbeing in the built environment. Emma is a member and judge for the midlands British Council of Offices.
Emma shares her experience and enthusiasm for architecture in the role of visiting lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton - School of Architecture, supporting the next generation of architects.

Ross Fittall
Ross Fittall is Commercial Director with transformational urban regeneration developer MEPC, the asset management and development arm of Federated Hermes, and heads up the £700m Paradise redevelopment in the cultural and civic centre of Birmingham.
Ross is responsible for delivering the final stages of the £1.2billion GDV Paradise redevelopment in Birmingham alongside having responsibility for all operational elements of the development and has been involved in the early stages of the masterplan inception and again since 2016.
Ross sits on the British Council for Offices Midlands & East Anglia Committee and was one of the founding members of the BCO NextGen Midlands Committee. Ross has a passion raising awareness of homeless in young people and sits on the Midlands LandAid Board.

Adam Tillis
Operations Director, Dragonfly Contracts
Having started his working life as a Building Surveyor and Project Manager, Adam has spent a significant part of his 19-year career working on and leading teams to deliver the repositioning and development of a large portfolio of assets, including the delivery of a range of M&E, fabric, refurbishment, fit out and full scale building redevelopments, playing a key role in the delivery of previous BCO winning schemes Neo and Bloc.
With a vast amount of experience working client side, Adam has now taken up a role as Operations Director at Dragonfly Contracts, developing their pre-contract services offer and supporting the evolution of the company into a true turnkey operator, specialising in the redevelopment of and repurposing of key client assets.
Adam has previously sat on the BCO Northern Committee and is in his third year as judge on the BCO Northern judging panel.

Nathalie's most recent project was Home Group's new HQ, One Strawberry Lane, which won the 2024 national BCO award for ESG and is described as an exemplar of how to deliver on all elements of ESG at the highest level, bringing a positive impact to both building users and the wider community.

Dani Ford, a chartered Quantity Surveyor accredited by RICS, serves as a judge for the Northern British Council for Offices (BCO) region, marking her first year on the panel. Prior to this role, Dani dedicated three years to the BCO NextGen committee, and is delighted to now be working with the other judges to reward excellence in commercial property while advocating sustainable practices and a commitment to adding social value.
Currently working as a freelance QS for Fordsight, Dani is working with companies such as Dalbergia Group and Luminate Education Group, working across both public and private sectors. Throughout her career, Dani has navigated various roles in cost management, procurement, and contract administration with dedication and diligence.

Harry is a chartered surveyor and director at Savills, advising a broad spectrum of institutional investors, developers and occupiers on high profile schemes across the South West region. He is a sector specialist in the marketing and leasing of office property, whilst providing technical expertise on refurbishment / repositioning programmes.
From a tenant representation perspective, his role is understanding the evolving commercial and practical needs of businesses and how this translates into their physical real estate requirements and strategy, particularly in a post-covid hybrid working environment, which then leads to space identification, lease negotiation, deal structuring, forecasting and financial analysis.

This is her first year joining the judging panel for the regional Awards.
Charlotte specialises in providing advice to occupiers, developers and investors across all sectors, from informing strategic real estate decisions, development or workplace strategies to procuring and delivering construction services.

She is the director of a MEP Consultancy firm, managing the Edinburgh office as well as the lead Energy and Sustainability director for the UK operations.
She specialises on the definition of low energy and low carbon building and services design and has been heavily involved in setting a pathway to net zero to our new and existing building stock including historic and complex buildings.
She is an advocate for women in engineering, STEM ambassador, a member of the CIBSE Scotland Committee and Scottish Chair of the Association of Consulting Engineers.

Lynn Smith
Lynn is Portfolio Director, Development & ESG at M&G Real Estate, responsible for M&G’s office development portfolio including the flagship City of London project, 40 Leadenhall. It is the second time that Lynn has joined M&G Real Estate having joined in 2016 as a Development Director covering the main commercial sectors, residential and master planning.
She has extensive experience in development across all sectors in the UK and Europe having also worked as Managing Director , Head of Development & Construction at Europa, Senior Development Director at Aviva Investors and Head of Development at The EDI Group. Passionate about sustainable design and the drive to zero carbon, Lynn has worked in commercial property for more than 30 years, is a judge for the British Council for Offices (BCO), the Scottish Property Awards and Construction News Awards and sits on the British Property Federation (BPF) Development Committee.
She has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1989 and has a BSc Land Economics.
