GUEST SPEAKER MATTHEW D’ANCONA
Matthew d’Ancona became Assistant Editor of The Times at the age of 26. He then progressed to Deputy Editor on The Sunday Telegraph, before briefly succeeding Boris Johnson at the helm of The Spectator.

Like many, Matthew believes a series of scandals, from duck house to green summits, proves a new kind of politics is needed. Without mincing his words, he believes that if a Tory revolution is ever to work, it must "wean the country off the malfunctioning, bloated state."

Perhaps surprisingly, given his leanings, Matthew edited Gordon Brown’s book Being British: The search for values that bind the nation. His next major project is a collaboration with John Cleese on a history of England.

BCO PRESIDENT GERALD KAYE
Gerald is Development Director at Helical Bar plc. He joined Helical in 1994 and since then has been responsible for a development programme of over 3 million sq ft, being mainly office space in Central London. Notable developments include 40 Berkeley Square, a prime office building of 75,000 sq ft in the heart of Mayfair, and One Bunhill Row, a 260,000 sq ft office in the City of London prelet to Slaughter and May.

He began his professional career at Knight Frank and Rutley and in 1984 joined London and Edinburgh Trust plc, a leading property development company, where he became a director. In 1992 he moved to Brussels as Chief Executive of SPP:LET NV, responsible for development and investment across mainland Europe.

Gerald is a trustee of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust and a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Hanover Rockspring Property Unit Trust.
