Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards

Any property which has an Energy Performance Certificate with an F or G rating will be classed as sub-standard. Today almost 20% of commercial property falls into this category and, from 1st April 2018, landlords will not be permitted to let their space unless they have carried out all cost-effective energy efficiency improvements or one of the exemptions applies.

WSP and Shoosmiths, are delighted to be hosting an evening seminar on this subject, and you are invited along to learn the practical actions you need to take to understand these new requirements and manage these risks. We’ll have engaging presentations from legal and property experts.

Peter Williams (Shoosmiths) advised Government on the development of the MEES guidance published earlier this year and is providing legal advice to both landlords and tenants. Simon Clouston (WSP) is advising leading real estate clients on how to manage the risks and ensure that property remains lettable after 1st April 2018.
