BCO Technical Tour – Salt Quay House, Plymouth

http://www.bco.org.uk/uploaded/Salt_Quay_House_thumb_.jpgThis is the latest in a series of major projects within a ten-year programme led by the Sutton Harbour Company to create a mixed-use district that is regenerating the waterfront.

The client brief required 5,000 sq m of commercial floor space on a 1,200 sq m asymmetric site, and a high quality statement building which maximised the spectacular views over the marina.

Challenges from the planning authority insisting the buiding "turn the corner" into a proposed boulevard, and an ambition to develop a contemporary building whilst respecting the historic material language of the area made this a complex project. Salt Quay House has presented an innovative response to these issues and is a building of exceptional quality and finish.
