This impressive seven-storey building is tribute to enlightened design and a fruitful partnership between Eversheds and Land Securities. As a tenant, Eversheds wanted a new HQ that would reinforce its image as an international law firm for the 21st century – a firm committed to innovation, environmental awareness and sustainability. Land Securities, the developer, shared this vision and was keen to enhance its reputation for sustainable development.

The result is one of the greenest and most versatile offices in London, and a ground-breaking workspace for a law firm. The building’s distinctive features include a flexible studio layout, which blends open plan cellular space; energy-saving chilled beam air-conditioning and intelligent lighting; recycled and environmentally sound construction materials; a water filtration and bottle recycling plant; an airline-style business lounge for clients; and, to encourage staff to ride to work, bicycle racks, showers and changing rooms. Not least, the building has a grass roof that absorbs emissions, improves insulation and provides a wildlife habitat.

Throughout One Wood Street, Land Securities and Eversheds have paid scupulous attention to detail. From the ground floor to the roof, the building makes a strong statement about the benefits of sustainable development and Eversheds’ progressive work style.
