The Frames is a new bespoke development designed by Squire & Partners for Workspace, tailored to SMEs and creative businesses in Shoreditch. The five-storey building creates 80,000 sq ft of flexible space designed to promote wellness and encourage interaction between people and businesses.

Squire & Partners was asked to create an exemplar building for Workspace, evolving their standard ‘business centre’ model to embrace elements of co-working, whilst still providing individual business units and maximising lettable area.

Influenced by the characteristic warehouse vernacular of the surrounding South Shoreditch Conservation Area, a language of raw materials and finishes is used throughout the building to reference the area’s industrial textile and printing heritage, and create an intrinsically Shoreditch development.

BCO members will have the opportunity to tour this successful development, hearing from the client and architect about the development.

The Frames has featured in several design publications including Wallpaper*, and was shortlisted for a 2019 BCO Regional award in the Commercial Workplace category.
