BCO Scotland Research Launch: Wellness Matters

The Wellness Matters project has adopted a unique approach by creating a strategic ‘roadmap’ to health & wellbeing in offices. Working with leading medical and academic experts the research has reviewed the existing evidence base of leading sustainability and health & wellbeing standards. The result is an outcome-focused framework against which these standards have been mapped. By doing so the study provides a concise point of reference for clients and their advisors as well as design and construction teams and sets out the best practice guidance for implementing and achieving health & wellbeing across the office life cycle.

Following the research presentation, Ann Allen, Executive Director of Estates and Commercial Services at the University of Glasgow, will introduce the university’s campus development and how it engages with the City and the major new opportunities emerging in the West of Glasgow and Govan through a new innovation district.

The University of Glasgow is investing £1bn in the campus to provide imaginative and innovative teaching, learning and state of the art research space. The first building in the campus development is a new £90m ‘learning and teaching hub’ which will open in September 2019. Essentially, the spaces in which the students of today are taught and learn will significantly influence their expectations of their working environment in the future. Attendees will be given the opportunity to tour spaces and get a sense of how pedagogy is evolving.
