BCO Scotland & BCO NextGen: 2020 Awards Launch

Marischal Square is a positive power for change in Aberdeen City Centre, delivering significant, environmentally friendly commercial offices with large office floor plates within the centre of Aberdeen.

It is a success story in regeneration, where high quality, sustainable design coupled with an excellent setting/location and a determined team has led to one of the most significant inward investment in the city for many years. It is delivering an economic boost to the immediate area from enhanced footfall and more people working and using leisure facilities. It forms part of the Council’s 25-year City Centre Masterplan which is kick-starting a public and private sector regeneration.

The development has carved out Marischal Square as the place to be, mixing commerce
with leisure to create a new sense of place. It has put the heart back into this neglected area of the city centre, creating a vibrant mixed-use development comprising offices,
hotel and ground floor retail, complementing the historic Marischal College and Provost Skene’s house with quality, sustainable buildings, spectacular public artwork and attractive public spaces.

This event also presents a great opportunity to learn more about the BCO Awards from David Dool, Chairman of the Regional Judging Panel and Stephen Lewis, who sits on the National Judging Panel. The BCO Awards are widely respected within the commercial property sector. They display the strength of British office design and illustrate a combination of excellence from the clarity of purpose in the brief; ingenuity of product; clever design solutions where appropriate; and delivery on time and in budget. Winning a BCO Award provides members of the project team with a multitude of benefits.

The event will close with refreshments and the opportunity to network with fellow members and industry peers.
