BCO Research Seminar, Year 2: The Government Hubs Programme

Government Hubs are an enabler for the delivery of Civil Service transformation, regional growth and the government’s vision to strengthen the Union. Creating a network of Government Hubs will make it easier for public servants to work throughout the UK, within workplaces that promote Smarter Working and collaboration across traditional departmental boundaries. It will house a Brilliant Civil Service in modern, flexible workspaces – ensuring a more diverse workforce that better reflects all the nations in the UK. And it will release more surplus land to build homes and deliver better public services that are closer and more accessible to the communities which they serve.

The Government Property Agency has commissioned an independent four-year study to assess the quantitative and qualitative benefits of co-locating departments in hubs.

BCO will share the findings from the second year of research. This will be followed by a tour of 10 South Colonnade, the second Government Hub to be fully operation, housing 8 Government departments.
