The BEAM is a unique speculative office building, built as the first phase centrepiece of the exciting and ambitious regeneration of the Vaux site in Sunderland City Centre. It has been designed as a non-conventional offer focussed around the themes of Healthy Office, Sustainable Workplace, Appealing Workplace, Lean Building and Contextual Response.

Sunderland City Hall is a new workplace and city hall that provides a mix of private and public uses, including a multi-functional council chamber, a café area and customer services in a publicly accessible ground floor. The project consolidates a wide range of municipal services previously located across eight locations around the city and represents phase two of a masterplan to regenerate a prominent 5.5ha site in the city centre.
City Hall’s design takes inspiration from the advanced engineering and material craftsmanship synonymous with Sunderland’s industrial and maritime heritage.
