BCO North: Retrofitting NOMA’s historic warehouses into modern workplaces – Hanover and Dantzic Buildings

Hanover
Hanover House and E Block is the first listed building within the Co-op estate and NOMA masterplan to be redeveloped. The refurbishment of Hanover and E Block will allow the building to be fully occupied for the first time in nearly 40 years and is a key site within NOMA and Manchester city centre’s urban grain. Hanover has brought urban density back to the Co-op estate, whilst providing Grade A office space within a historic structure. Pre-let to Amazon and WeWork. BCO national award winner for Recycled Refurbished Workplace 2019.

Dantzic
Refurbishment of Grade II listed ‘Dutch Modernist’ Dantzic building as part of the wider regeneration of the NOMA, former Co-op, estate to provide speculative office space, targeting the tech sector. New steel windows allow for natural ventilation to the upper floors, whilst the heating is provided by ceiling mounted VRF. This is so far the only naturally ventilated building in NOMA.
