BCO North Research Seminar: Embodied Carbon: The Why, The What & The How

Accounting for embodied carbon in our buildings is critical to achieving zero carbon projects. The UK Green Building Council estimates that embodied carbon from the construction and refurbishment of buildings currently makes up 20% of UK built environment emissions and as the UK grid decarbonises, embodied carbon will inevitably account for an increasing proportion of the whole-life carbon emissions.

Our expert panel, consisting of speakers from Hawkins Brown, Simpson Haugh, Atelier Ten and others to be confirmed, will discuss ‘Why’ Embodied Carbon matters more than ever, ‘What’ the construction industry needs to do to minimise associated emissions and ‘How’ it can be practically achieved.
