BCO North Research Launch: Wellness Matters

The Wellness Matters project has adopted a unique approach by creating a strategic ‘roadmap’ to health & wellbeing in offices. Working with leading medical and academic experts the research has reviewed the existing evidence base of leading sustainability and health & wellbeing standards. The result is an outcome-focused framework against which these standards have been mapped. By doing so the study provides a concise point of reference for clients and their advisors as well as design and construction teams and sets out the best practice guidance for implementing and achieving health & wellbeing across the office life cycle.

Following the research presentation, Hilson Moran will discuss the WELL Accreditation and process together with an introduction to their offices at Neo, winner of the BCO’s Regional Innovation Award 2018.

BCO judges applauded Hilson Moran for its sustainable approach, earning the development the UK’s third WELL Certification. With 40 years of experience designing environmental services, Hilson Moran set out to deliver an exemplar project for their own office, located in the Neo building. Many initiatives were implemented with a view to improve employee health and wellbeing, such as local adjustment of office temperatures and personal lockers, design features such as green moss walls in the collaboration area, and plants which were carefully selected to help remove pollutants from the air.

Food and drink will be provided during the networking period after the seminar, along with the chance to tour Hilson Moran’s offices.
