BCO NextGen Talk & Tour: The Caxton Buckingham Green

The tower has been dressed using innovative black anodised cladding and triple-glazing which has been converted into a mixed-use address featuring 65 residences and four floors of workspace. This major urban development has breathed new life into the tower and surrounding public realm, creating a lively and inviting precinct in a prime location.

The project provided the rare chance to remodel a piece of quintessential London, with a fascinating mix of buildings and uses, around new external spaces that connect to the intricate network of streets around the Park. Two smaller buildings either side of the tower comprise additional offices and retail provision.

Previously, the site was blighted by a dark alley lined with small shops and service vents, which did not do justice to the fine urban context of its surrounds. Fletcher Priest’s design replaces a tired podium to the tower and reflects the area’s character with richly articulated red brick, and a new public thoroughfare. The tower itself now sits more comfortably in its setting, with a fully glazed, double-height lobby and a reduced, rationalised core cased in fine marble.

Join us for the opportunity to see and hear more about this project, along with the chance to network with fellow BCO members and industry peers before the tour.
