BCO NextGen South West: WiP International Women’s Day

The theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) for 2020 is ‘Each for Equal’ and we have gathered together a number of distinguished guest speakers to share their thoughts on why it should be on everyone’s agenda to improve diversity, and how we can work to achieve equality within our industry for the benefit of everyone. We are delighted to be joined by:
• Mayor Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol, who will deliver a keynote on Bristol’s aims for equality as part of the One City agenda
• John Boughton, Deputy MD of Willmott Dixon Wales & West, will discuss the culture within the organisation that was recently ranked 3rd in the Financial Times’ Diversity Index
• Deborah Fraser, Director of Regions for CBI, will explain the progress businesses are making on gender diversity as well as BAME and social mobility, and why businesses need to take it seriously in order to prosper
• Guy Grainger, CEO of EMEA for JLL and Junior VP at the British Property Federation will offer the global perspective on diversity as well as his views on the importance of male allies and leading a diversity agenda from the top of an organisation
• Zara Nanu, CEO of Gapsquare, the gender pay gap specialists, will provide an overview of the statistics on diversity in the UK and construction, as well as why we need to learn from other industries
• Denise Wilson OBE, Chief Executive of the Hampton-Alexander Review will update on the Government sponsored review of how to increase women on the boards of FTSE 350 companies and in leadership positions
