BCO NextGen North Talk & Tour of Albert Works, Sheffield

Albert Works is the conversion of four disused traditional red-brick industrial warehouses around a central double height steel infill which has created approximately 1,500m2 of workspace for Jaywing, a Sheffield based creative digital marketing company. Cartwright Pickard’s sensitive reimagining of these existing buildings has enabled Jaywing to create a central open-plan design-hub with perimeter meeting rooms and cellular offices to suit the diverse mix of daily office teams that operate within the building. Feature light fittings and integrated shipping containers have been developed by 93ft, interior designers, to enhance the industrial aesthetic of the building and its history whilst enhancing the working environment for Jaywing.

Albert Works is the first stage of a larger regeneration project, known as Alsop Fields, within the Cultural Industries Quarter, a conservation area within the centre of Sheffield. Careful consideration of the building form has enabled the converted office space to work with a mixed-mode heating // ventilation strategy with high level roof cowls within the double height workplace drawing air in from the perimeter office // meeting rooms, lowering the energy demands of the modern office.

A series of breakout and larger event spaces around the office creates a diverse range of communal activities throughout the space that draws on the industrial heritage of the building.
The event will close with drinks and canapes and the opportunity to network with fellow members.

This event is open to BCO Members and non-members. Members and non-members can book online.
