Platform 21 is one of Birmingham’s most ambitious office refurbishment projects, occupying a prominent position on the skyline adjacent to New Street Station. The project seeks to reimagine the 1950s ‘Woolworths’ office building, transforming the floorplates into light and open spaces and creating a modern and sophisticated office building.

The proposals include a number of major and technically challenging interventions, including a complete reorientation of the building to reposition the entrance to Stephenson Street, cutting and carving a new circulation core, back-to-frame façade replacement to Stephenson Street and a number of floorplate extensions.

Join the BCO NextGen Midlands committee for a short talk and tour of the construction site to learn about the proposals from the design and construction team. Team members will be on hand from Associated Architects, Wates Construction and office agency CBRE, to talk through the challenges, as well as showcasing the finished proposals through virtual reality headsets.

Tea / coffee and breakfast sandwiches will be served at 8am.
