BCO Midlands & East Anglia: Talk & Tour of WSP at the Mailbox

The Mailbox Building was built in 1970 as the UK’s largest Royal Mail mechanical sorting office, and incorporates a service tunnel connected to New Street Station. The building was substantially redeveloped in 1997 into a mixed-use scheme.

The 7th floor was formerly occupied by Network Rail, and on their vacation in 2016, left an empty shell of some 50,000 sq ft.
During 2017 WSP chose the office space as their next home and entered a contract with Brockton Capital to fit out the floor to Cat B. The end result was a high quality, flexible refurbished 58,652 sq ft space (including mezzanine areas), consolidating WSP’s Midlands presence and bringing more than 700 staff together from smaller offices across the region.

One of the largest office floor footprints in the West Midlands, employees benefit from a tree-lined central street, with central coffee bar, break-out chairs and tables along its 63m length, allowing them to enjoy the natural light, canal views and double height space.
