Bidwell House is a well-known landmark building and an opportunity arose to enable Bidwells not only to upgrade/improve the building but also look at work practices. A fresh injection of life and innovation was required and the brief to COEL, the designers and contractors, included the need for a more open and comfortable environment, a range of workstation styles to accommodate “agile working” and maximising natural light; all designed to make working at Bidwells a much better experience.

Bidwells’ staff have shifted from a static, traditional way of working to being wholly mobile, and they are loving it. Average employee satisfaction levels have risen from 53% in January 2018 to around 70% from April 2018, when staff moved into the refurbished 23,000 sq ft building. Employee sick days have dropped by 23%.
