The development team for the British Sugar HQ has created a modern workplace for the iconic group of businesses, following their Client’s vision for a vibrant and sustainable environment. The office provides a place for them to build a collaborative community and has the capacity to delight and surprise.

Highly sustainable and EPC A-rated, the building is covered by external louvres that move elegantly to control the sunlight, opening and closing and causing the building’s appearance to change throughout the day and night when the transparency becomes apparent.

The BCO judges particularly liked the loftiness and generosity of the interior which has an earthy feel referencing the rich manufacturing background of the businesses within. The interior feels active; people move around a lot, interacting in a variety of environments and enjoying the excellent café.
