BCO Awards Launch & Tour of the Core

The Core opened its doors in November 2014 introducing Science Central as a new quarter of Newcastle city centre. The Core was developed by Newcastle City Council and is a building that the judges described as one that embodies sustainability. One of its most striking features is a seven-storey-high living wall – a vertical garden that is home to ivies, seagrass, thyme, primulas, euphorbia, and strawberries. The building’s gold cladding creates a statement and makes it a landmark for the entire Science Central development.

This event presents a great opportunity to hear more about the BCO Awards from Tony Hordon, part of the National Judging Panel, including changes to the region’s boundaries and to the judging criteria, both of which come into effect for the 2017 Awards. The BCO Awards are widely respected within the commercial property sector. They display the strength of British office design and illustrate a combination of excellence from the clarity of purpose in the brief; ingenuity of product; clever design solutions where appropriate; and delivery on time and in budget. Winning a BCO Award provides members of the project team with a multitude of benefits.

Refreshments will be provided, along with the chance to network with BCO members and fellow industry professionals.
