Graeae Theatre Company, Bradbury Studios, 138 Kingsland Road

Regional BCO Award Winner of Projects up to 2,000m²

This project demonstrates an exceptional design with an exceptional ethos. A conversion of a derelict Grade II listed building that presented plenty of challenges. The building needs to work for people with a diversity of impairments and this has been achieved through exemplary material and specification choice.

The space has been transformed into a multi-use workplace, celebrating the diverse mix of staff, artists, and visitors that now work at and enjoy the building. The use of colour, light, management of sound and even scented planting provides a new template, for building accessibility.
