The British Council for Offices is a membership organisation devoted to research and discussion. Through our publications, events and networking opportunities we provide the platform to debate all aspects of the office sector.
Our membership of more than 4,000 is comprehensive. We represent owners, developers, architects, surveyors, managers, occupiers – and many more. From students to seasoned professionals, our members bring many perspectives and levels of experience.
The BCO was founded in 1990 to streamline the office sector. We pioneered a focus on the environment and reducing waste. Since then, our remit has widened. Today, the BCO focuses on all aspects of best practice, from workplace creation and delivery to occupation and evolution.
As thought leaders, we give members a voice and pioneer future thinking of what an office can be. As facilitators, the BCO brings people together to develop their businesses and careers through learning, mentoring and guidance. Our access to unrivalled industry expertise allows us to react quickly, while strategising to create long-term change.
Most importantly, our actions are led by our membership. We listen to their concerns and ambitions, creating publications and events that are relevant and further the conversation. Our goal is to help members magnify their impact on communities, protect our planet and drive best practice in creating the workplaces people desire.
