Tour – Telefonica UK Limited Slough HQ

Telefonica UK Limited’s new headquarters combines the company’s existing headquarters building with a new speculative office development. This has enabled the move of staff from a disparate set of ageing office buildings into a single campus.

This new campus caters for 2,000 staff but with desk provision for 1,400. This has meant a significant change in working practices including the move away from a traditional 9-5 work model to a more flexible working environment with an online desk booking system.

Movement around the building is easy using an accommodation staircase and bespoke link bridge that provides a dramatic architectural feature in the reception. Telefonica UK Limited’s brand is clearly reflected in every aspect of the design delivering a consistent and strong message.

As part of Telefonica UK Limited’s corporate plans to be carbon neutral by 2012, a sustainability and energy use charter was drawn up at the beginning of the project. Wherever possible exisiting materials have been reused and integrated minimising waste and energy.
