Property and Procurement
As we emerge from an extended period of economic downturn, with few large commericial schemes at construction stage, this roundtable discussion will as attendees how they believe the next pahse of commercial premises, will be deliverd by our sector. A series of questions will include:
- Will we revert from the negotiation based routes of procurement which became the ‘norm’ at the end of the last period of ‘boom’, to more traditional ‘lump sum’ solutions, previously labelled in some quarters as more ‘client friendly’?
- Will this be sustainability going forward and are there only short term gains to be made from the current willingness of the contractor market to accept a greater degree of risk transfer?
- How will the introduction of the ‘new’ contract forms (i.e. Major Works) impact on the chosen routes of procurement going forward?
- Did partnering work in the past cycle?
Hosted in the marketing suite of Sellar Property Group at The Shard in London, this event will open with a presentation from Hamish McKenzie on the development before opening up to wider discussion.
