The BCO has commissioned new research on occupier densities to inform the next edition of the BCO Specification. The 2005 edition recommends an occupier density of 12 sq m to 17 sq m, however initial findings indicate that some occupiers are occupying space more densely. Higher densities may result in organisations failing to achieve their sustainability targets as these offices require additional facilities and energy.
