The Birmingham office was the latest in a number of schemes that tpbennett have designed for DLA Piper. The move to 2 Chamberlain Square was a fantastic opportunity to create a space that reflects their professional culture and for the Birmingham office to pioneer their new way of working.

tpbennett have developed the ‘glocal’ (global but local) concept for DLA Piper during previous projects and this continued in Birmingham, establishing the office as a workplace within the global network but rooted in its’ locality.

The Covid-19 pandemic provided an opportunity to pause and reflect on the design, and really provide a
platform for them to take this next step in embracing agile working.

The 40,000 sq ft fit-out covers 2 floors, linked by a feature staircase. A professional and contemporary reception and client suite, alongside the vibrant staff lounge, both lead to a dedicated terrace with impressive views over the square. The main work floor design pushed DLA in a bold new direction with a central collaboration zone providing multiple alternative work settings and innovative furniture solutions.

The locality of the office in the heart of Birmingham city centre creates a destination office that paves the way for the future of DLA Piper office designs.
