Description

Sustainability is a key issue in the National Trust’s philosophy, and it was important for Heelis to meet high-quality benchmarks for sustainable design. Heelis takes energy consumption, day lighting and natural ventilation of offices in a new direction and demonstrates how a building can be architecturally enticing, an outstanding place to work and highly sustainable, with very low running costs.

The relocation of this central office has brought together 450 staff, formerly split across five sites, under the one roof for the first time. Creating a building of this scale gave Buro Four and the entire project team the opportunity to show how sustainable development could be factored in at every stage.
